Fakes And Fripperies

I am drawn by the drama, movement and storytelling of Baroque art, borrowing its patterns, decoration and ornaments in an abstract conflation of drama and courtly accoutrements.

My work is both a celebration of beauty and a post-modern, antipodean amused comment on the courtly rituals, manners and the pervasive sense of importance and entitlement of protagonists and subjects of art history, contrasted with the loose, abstract and free forms and rules of contemporary life.
