Roaming celebrates the restlessness of life; the artist’s love of travel and the international artists residencies awarded her, as well as her recent move to live in the Blue Mountains. The nature of the work is, again, an exploration into space/place and movement and reflects my overriding interest in the fact of being an artist. The work is more about me than the natural input, more about the act of creativity. The way I use paint reflects this – the expressive mark-making imitates but does not describe the natural elements and indicates a personal experience of place. The forms hold “marks-as-nature” in new compositions which speak of nature and my interaction and movement within it.
