ABC Interview to commemmorate one year since Blue Mountains Bush fires
As some of you may remember, I camped out at Mt Irvine after the October 2013 bush fires that devastated areas of the Blue Mountains, recording in drawings and paintings the effect of the fires on the area. The ABC, in re-visiting how these areas were recovering, interviewed a photographer and myself to coincide with the Mt Wilson/Mt Irvine Rural Bush Fire Fundraising Art Show, held on the weekend of 18th and 19th October. I had a couple of artworks here, and one drawing sold. You can read the article here
Interview with Ken Sparkes for Xinhua News
On Thursday 22nd January, I was interviewed at some length by Ken Sparkes, Senior Journalist for Xinhua News, a Chinese television station that reaches some multiple BILLIONS (yes, I thought I heard wrong as well) around the world. The interview is in English and may be translated for Chinese expatriots living internationally, and for those who speak English but have an interest in Chinese affairs. The television crew were at Wild Valley Art Park, where my studio is located, to do a segment which will appear in a 30 minute program about the Blue Mountains. The show will be produced in Australia and sent o Beijing for broadcast in the next few months. It’ll be interesting to see how much of the interview remains in tact.
